Take a break.
Sometimes life can feel like too much. In those moments step away
and do anything but whatever it is that is stressing you out
until you feel better.
Sometimes a simple “mental vacation” such as closing your eyes
and transporting yourself to a calm peaceful place
can work wonders in your current state.
I love the 4-4-8 exercise:
Inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 8. This can have an immediate calming effect
on your autonomic nervous system.
