I would like to say I always have it together and am diligent about practicing what I preach, teach, and know. However, as an imperfect human being, I struggle at times to deal with life’s stressors and when necessary have asked for help. I am generally able to manage my mental health needs by engaging in activities like spending time with my family, playing with my animals, reading/listening to books, exercising, and finding ways to have fun whether singing karaoke in my living room, spending time with friends, or watching a great tv series. I have found that it is essential for me to be true to myself. Whenever I feel like things are falling apart or becoming too overwhelming, I take a step back and reevaluate my priorities and remember to be true to myself. Whenever I do this, everything else always falls into place and I can get back on track. As it is often quoted: It’s not the destination, but the journey.
