COPA HEALTH 31 DAYS OF HEALING: Pets Have Power!

While many of us might classify ourselves as a “dog-person,” a “cat person,” or a “scales and feathers person,” nearly all of us can agree that animals have a powerful effect on our emotional, mental, and social well-being. Caring for a pet requires us to establish a healthier routine than we might have otherwise. A routine that includes exercise, socialization, and time for play and relaxation. According to the National Institute of Health, petting, playing, and cuddling with animals can help to reduce cortisol levels, lower blood pressure, decrease stress & anxiety, improve focus & concentration, and enhance confidence, cooperation, & personal responsibility.
