If you are worried, ask. If you are scared, seek out support. Many people who are struggling with their mental health do NOT reach out for help. Do NOT expect that your loved ones will tell you that they need support. DO... • Know the signs of suicide. • Ask direct questions. It is okay to ask about mental health and suicide. • Listen to support, not to fix. This is not the time to offer solutions. • Offer validation and next steps. "I am sorry you are feeling this way, and I'm here for you." • Seek out support. You do not have to do any of this alone. Call 988 for guidance or if you need a crisis team. Call 911 and specify mental health crisis if there is possible immediate danger.
